Mr. Deang’s bird center, a home for birdwatcher at Doi Inthanon

Welcome to Doi Inthanon National Park

In 1978 Mr. Deang also known as “Lung Deang” for to Thai birdwatchers started his bird center. Since then, Mr. Deang bird center is best known among birdwatchers as a meeting point. Birdwatchers can get recent report from the log book, map, foods, low cost accommodation, camp site and most of all Thai hospitality. Now Mr Deang’s café and his bird center at K.M.31 is a famous place in birdwatching society worldwide.

Fantastic Mountain Birds

Birds of Doi Inthanon live at different altitude from dry dipterocarp at lower hill to montane forest at the roof of Thailand 2,565 meters high. The main attractions are Purple and Green Cochoa, which are indigenous to this area. More than 380 species have been reported here such as White-rumped Falcon, Collared Falconet, White-bellied Woodpecker, Black-backed Forktail, Chestnut-winged Cuckoo, River Chat, Plumbeous Redstart, Black-tailed Crake, Brown-throated Treecreeper, Ashy Wood-Pigeon, Dark-sided Thrush, Rufous-throated Partridge, Green-tailed Sunbird.

Mr Deang Bird Tour

 Mr Deang offers bird tour as his new service.  Mr Peng, Thongchai Siriporn, the bird leader of the center who once was a bird leader of Bird Conservation Society of Thailand spends 4-5 months in Doi Inthanon each year. This makes him is an expert for Doi Inthanon birdwatching.
